The Other Old Lady

Something about that distant stare and capturing the emotion of the portrait subject. I was never very close to this particular elderly relative. I wish I had been closer to be honest. Looking back, I wonder if she was always depressed and therefore was difficult to get along with. She always seemed distant. But dang, I miss her and wish I’d been closer or made more of an effort earlier than I did. I took this, and hope I captured that distant stare she always seemed to have with people.

RIP Doreen. Miss you.
